Transponder Chip Key
The transponder chip is a security device that transmits a unique code to the car's immobilizer when it's inserted into the ignition. The immobilizer then stops the vehicle's starter motor, fuel pump and any other device which would otherwise allow it to operate it wasn't for the chip's identification code.
